When Dan’s best man stood to give his speech, he admitted he had so much more he wanted to say but his words were falling short. Today I am sharing the same sentiments about their Marriott Ranch wedding in Hume, Virginia! What a testament to the kind of people Daniel and Katelynn are that they would have nearly 100 friends and family members, travel to their day. These two met in college, when one night Katelynn and her girlfriends finally went out (something they never do) to two of Virginia Tech local spots. When Katelynn’s friends couldn’t find her, they got worried but finally found her chatting with Daniel outside. When it was time to leave he insisted on walking her to her car for the evening and they have been together ever since!! I had to laugh when he said he knew she was the one because he knew she wouldn’t steal his golden retriever, Cooper.

Thanks to the military way of life these two have spent an incredible amount of time apart the past year, while Daniel finished up for the Marines and prepared for his next duty station and Katelynn completed her commitments to a local vet office. She grew up riding horses and obviously loves animals so the Marriott Ranch Bed & Breakfast in Hume, VA was an ideal location! Views of the mountains, dog friendly and everything could happen in one spot. Let me tell you, this venue is fantastic!! The interior has ample space for getting ready AND portraits, the property is immaculately kept and the reception space easily transforms for any weather! We were so fortunate to have the most beautiful day, it started off quite breezy but died down shortly after the ceremony so the guests could enjoy the open reception concept with fire pits and lounge areas. I told them after their engagements they deserved a beautiful day and I know Daniel was thrilled to not being SO hot in his uniform!

It is so easy to see why people gravitate towards these two. They are calm and friendly, humble and God centered, and the kind of people who kindness just runs through their veins. Now, the two of them are off on their next great adventure, three years in Japan!! Shortly after Cooper and Theodore (Katelynn’s happy lab!) will join them. Thank you both for opening your day up to me, it was such a treat and I am excited to see what amazing blessings come your way!
