If you’ve been around for longer than fifteen minutes, it should come as no surprise that the mountains are not my first choice for a destination vacation but after celebrating at Wintergreen with Kelli and Mike I’m rethinking it!! They celebrated with a fourth of July inspired wedding, complete with patriotic colors, American flag socks, locker boxes for the guys, and summer inspired cocktail hour food! It was SUCH a great way to keep the momentum of fourth of July going!
I love how Kelli & Mike stayed at Wintergreen the entire week before the wedding and encouraged guests to trickle in and take advantage of everything to do up there on the short work week. Since multiple homes were rented, they had so many friends hanging out and I love that!!! They were able to incorporate such personal touches all through their day: from the welcome table at the ceremony (this was GENIUS!!), their vows (Mike we all heard Kelli say she would stop bringing home stray dogs for a while!), and the musician they had sing personalized arrangements of their songs it was such a memorable wedding!!
The night before the wedding, a small storm system finally broke the heat wave we had been experiencing and brought it cooler temperatures. I think I can honestly say though none of us expected temperatures THAT much cooler!! The weather during the day was a dream: sunshine with passing clouds, great breeze and you could be outside without feeling like you were standing in front of an oven. After the sun went down the temperatures dropped considerably and a steady breeze had everyone crowding the dance floor to get moving!!
There’s something to be said about the kind of people Mike and Kelli are when they have a destination wedding and well over 100 of their friends and family come in. They’re the kind of people who make you feel comfortable, who you feel like you’ve known for a while and most importantly put their friends first.
Kelli & Mike I am so happy for you both and that was one heck of a party!!
don't worry I won't spam you
