After shooting Lauren & Garrett’s engagement last fall (check them here) I knew photographing them on their wedding day would be full of JOY. Originally, we should have been in the mountains of Charlottesville but when it came time to finalize things some decisions had to be made to pivot their original large event to 2022 and do a small celebration near a special place for her family. Lauren, Garrett, and their family plus very close friends gathered at Bayside Resort right on the Delaware/Maryland border, with a point that overlooks the Ocean City skyline.

Before eve asking Lauren to be his girlfriend, he had told her he would marry her. She thought that was cute but absurd and suggested dating first (she knew his dad had done the same to his mom!) 2.5 years later, on the same steps he asked her to date him at, Garrett asked Lauren to marry him. How’s that for gut instinct?!

Their day was full of laughter, joy, and many funny stories. They have balanced engagements, wedding planning amidst a pandemic, a total change in wedding plans, becoming dog parents, Lauren going through school for her higher education, working full time and yet all while keeping a smile on their face. Even with all the changes and the hiccups, they made sure to soak it all in!

I loved celebrating with Lauren and Garrett at the beach and am SO excited we get to celebrate in the mountains next year!
