June 1 was a gorgeous day in Hampton Roads and with every gorgeous day comes traffic because everyone is dying to bust out of the work mode and head to the sand for a little relaxation. The ceremony was scheduled to start at 5:00 but at 5:00 we had no bride driving from the far side of Norfolk and no groom driving in from Williamsburg after a morning of golf. So, while they waited for what was sure to be a beautiful bride guests mingled and laughed and some even arrived relieved they hadn’t missed their friends big day. I saw Bridgett before the ceremony while she waited for Darryl to get there and she was ready! Excitement and nerves danced in her eyes and she breathed heavy, but was ready. Shortly after leaving her, Darryl arrived and it was time to say kiss the bride! Now, this was my first Greek Orthodox wedding and let me tell you what they are long but BEAUTIFUL! Full or singing, chanting, praying and beautiful words from their Father and friends. Throughout the ceremony, Darryl stole peeks at his bride who stood by his side the whole 45 minutes. It was beautiful and the ceremony was sealed with a sweet kiss. After the ceremony, we headed to the Williamsburg Winery for portraits before dinner and as usual the scenery did not disappoint. Bridgett + Darryl, thank you so much for letting me be a part of your tradition filled day! It was beautiful!!
A very special thank you to Rebecca of Rebecca Keeling Studios for second shooting with me!
