There is something to be said about shooting a wedding in the brutal July heat and when you reminisce on it, the heat is the last thing you remember. I remember walking into Stephanie’s childhood home and her waving frantically with the biggest smile on her face. I’ll always remember her momma telling her she was just so beautiful, so incredibly beautiful. I remember Willie telling me he was “just so ready”. The heat? What heat index and humidity?? This was a gorgeous day at Chrysler Museum of Art!
These two were married in a catholic church ceremony. During that time, their priest reminded them of a few things. One being that they are not tied together, but rather loaned to each other from God. What an incredible reminder! That before we are each other’s, we first and foremost belong to Him. That He has given us the heart to love another and together point others toward Him.
We got to head to the beautiful Chrysler Museum of Art for portraits and the party! This bridal party were SUCH team players for their time in front of the camera. We had no breeze and were seeking some shelter in a small area of shade. Stephanie had told me she really wanted portraits done on the front of the building with it’s beautiful arches and stairs BUT the sun was not on our side for that (or so I thought). This is where I swear being married to a man who is pretty much a storm chaser has come in handy! I noticed some clouds when we started bridal portraits and thought I probably had 20 minutes before they gave me a short window to move them to the front. When those clouds moved in, we hustled to the front and the STRANGEST weather happened. Those clouds tripled to a HUGE screen, the wind picked up and the temperature dropped enough to give us 20+ minutes of shooting just out front!! It was heavenly!
We took the party inside for a bit, where Larry from Astro DJ turned Huber Court into Club Chrysler, complete with the most beautiful uplighting that really showcases the architecture of the space! I didn’t get to see the party all the way through but I have no doubt it was definitely one for the record books!!
I am just SO lucky to have the girls I do (and their guys!!) and I know I say it a lot but they are truly the most beautiful girls, inside and out. Every time I leave it’s always feeling so blessed I was chosen to document their story and preserve it to be passed down. Wishing you both so much laughter and adventure!
