Oh these two….how can I even describe how magic this engagement session turned out to be? Shannon had her heart set on one of these huge trees but I had no clue where to find them! I knew they lived in Virginia Beach but had never really been to one. She stalked social media until she found it, asked the poster and found the tree! So on the Saturday that Hurricane Matthew made landfall, her and Ralph drove out to locate it and the following weekend went back just to make sure it had made it though the storm with no damage! They had to do a little landscaping but I think we can agree the tree did not disappoint for their engagements.
Now funny story, what you don’t see is that the bugs were REALLY bad and the area around us was still under water, you also don’t see the man in his underwear who was guarding the tree when we got there. I’m not even kidding, I had to ask him for some privacy and he still watched a little bit of the session! Still, these two were so EASY to work with, I barely had to teach them anything! The light coming through the trees was so gorgeous and dreamy! They clearly adore each other and I absolutely loved spending my evening with them!!! We went over to the bayside to catch the sunset and I swear it felt like we were in more of the rolling hills with all the color versus the beach!
I’m ecstatic to shoot their wedding next year at The Water Table with East Beach Catering, Kelly Gish Florals, Astro DJ, and more!! Thanks to the talented Dhalia for her gorgeous makeup!
