As a firm believer in documenting legacies, I think alot of people tie that to weddings. Now let me say firmly, I LOVE weddings! New love, new lives, fresh starts and all that fun stuff! I would shoot weddings every week if I could! But there is something so refreshing to me about shooting anniversaries, a love that’s been worn in like your favorite pair of blue jeans. A love that anticipates where you may fall, how she will laugh, how he will proclaim how much he loves curly hair knowing she is having it curled, kinda love. That is Heather and Jared. That melt into each other like my favorite pair of jeans slides on. It’s a comfortable love and it’s heart warming.
Heather got ready in my kitchen by the always amazing Jess Barbini and she looked like a total glam pot when we scooted out the door! I was nervous that day because one she would be in my kitchen and we had never met and two the weather was iffy! BUT I have been fortunate this summer to gamble against Mother Nature and mostly win. We started off at this perfect little shack I use to see on my daily commute into Chesapeake. Literally on the side of the road surrounded by wild mint, it smelled heavenly the whole time we were shooting. Even though we had super limited room to move around because of the vegetation and blind turn on the road, we worked it out!
After that we went to a spot I had founds months ago driving and stuck in my back pocket for this shoot. I KNEW if the weather cooperated we would have amazing light and boy did we!! Heather and Jared are talented photographers out of Elizabeth City and when we pulled up they said “Oh this light is MAGIC!!!” It really was.
Heather & Jared to know you two and be trusted for this special time in your life was such an honor. I loved watching your love and wish you lived next door to me!! You are a great example to all your couples as to what a marriage should look like: fun, supportive, smitten and adventurous! <3
