All day long, it threatened way. On the way down 168 headed to Sanctuary Vineyards I kept saying out loud “rain and be done or go away”.
I got to the room where Michelle and her girls were getting ready. Mimosa bar in full effect the room was buzzing with excitement. I pulled out my phone to check the weather and Michelle told me not to tell her either way (my app said 10% at that point so I felt like we were good to go!) She finished up and we headed out to meet Joe for their first look. I was ecstatic Michelle went with my suggestion of a first look. It gave her and Joe time to talk to each other before, calm each other down, laugh and get out some of those jitters but most importantly it gave them a TON more pictures!! Michelle had written Joe a letter and he read it before she had him turn around. Tears in his eyes, his expression said it all. We did all the portraits before the ceremony so the bridal party could relax afterwards and grab some beers and cocktails! Another plus in my opinion, pictures are done and it’s just so relaxing! We finished up and Michelle got tucked away before guests could peek at her! She wore her mother’s veil, her something borrowed and something old, that she wore when she married Michelle’s dad. I mean, talk about sentimental. The veil was incredible!!
After a scary weather forecast all day, at 5 on the dot clouds parted and the only spot where there were sun rays was the area the ceremony was held in! Talk about a sign!!! The skies around us were scary, you can see from some of the angles we shot at! Michelle and Joe promised their love to each other under an arch Joe built, the perfect backdrop for an outdoor ceremony! The wind worked it’s magic and that veil was beautiful flowing up there!
Since we knocked out all the bridal party before, we started on family pictures and then the rain picked up! So, we condensed the timeline and moved to the reception building, no big deal! Waited a few minutes and the rain cleared, so it was off for more romantics against the gorgeous grapevines growing! Their adorable son Noah jumped in, but was way more interested in chasing the chicken running back and forth. 🙂 Boys, toddler boys none the less.
The reception was fun!! Lots of laughing and dancing in the brewing room. Dj Taylor Haycox kept the good songs comin’ and guests danced into the night!
We took advantage of their sparkler exit and enjoyed some fun sparkler pictures too!
Congratulations Joe and Michelle!! Thank you for letting me be a part of your gorgeous day!! xx
