Well friends prepare yourself because this blog post is going to be portrait overload!! I just couldn’t help myself and found as I went through this wedding the immense joy that poured out of Kristy is exactly the bride I want to spend my days with! One of the first things I told Kristy was “the weather gods love you!!” we had the most beautiful spring weather for their day!! The temperature was ideal for a wedding in the Butterfly Garden at Norfolk Botanical Gardens and their fun reception was held indoors at Bakers Hall!! This was my first NBG wedding, but I am so hoping I get to come back here regularly because the gardens are my one of my favorite wedding venues in Hampton Roads!!!

Kristy & Brande chose to do a first look and I am thrilled they did! Doing so allowed them a ton of portraits in so many places throughout the gardens! Her gorgeous florals from Palette of Petals has to be in my top five favorite wedding bouquets, all the soft and romantic colors were the perfect complement to the colors throughout the different spaces in NBG. These two stood in front of 75 of their closest friends and with the cutest of scrunched noses, courtesy of Kristy, and background noise from two airplanes taking off said the vows thousands of couples have said to each other. I glanced over at all the parents during the ceremony and every single one of them had the biggest smile on their face during the vows, it was so special to see how proud they each were of what they had just witnessed!! After the ceremony, thanks to Liz and her speedy golf cart, we were able to hit up four different spots in less than an hour for portraits!!

Their reception was SO MUCH FUN! DJ Danny from Astro made sure every one stayed on the floor and I LOVED seeing the grandparents dance a few times throughout the night!! My favorite part had to be the cake, no CINNAMON ROLL cutting and it was delicious! Such a fun twist on the typical wedding dessert. Great weather, gorgeous couple, delicious food, perfect party makes for one happy photographer and one great send off into marriage!
