I have been looking forward to this wedding for SO LONG now!! Kristen and I go way back, like high school days! She was a class younger than me but we had orchestra together and went on a few trips with that group! Facebook has let us stay in touch but nothing compares to being there while she planned her wedding, from engagements to lots of emails. Somehow she balanced her crazy schedule of teaching and coaching along with planning this wedding and all the DIY feather and coral decor! I loved the gold tipped feathers and all the sparkles for this wedding day, a bride after my own heart with some glam 😉

Kristen & Marques opted to not share a first look, but she did share one with her Dad and brother. I loved that!! Still such a special moment on a wedding day. They were such troopers in the August heat, which actually gave us a break considering the week before the heat index was 115*! They had their entire day held at Stevenson Ridge in Fredericksburg, VA and it was spectacular! What a gorgeous property with such a great staff. I honestly have to give some much kudos to Bethina and her staff there, they were so accommodating allowing people to hang out in the AC before the ceremony and provide waters for everyone during the ceremony. Kristen & Marques were married in the shade of two large oak trees with a slight breeze coming off the pond behind them. After portraits it was time for a party and this was truly a reception I wanted to put my camera down and dance with everyone!! The DJ was fantastic, keeping the dance floor packed the entire night right down to the last private dance after which they left in a glow stick tunnel….my new favorite way over sparklers! I loved so many parts of this wedding day, from the sweet letters to her father first look, the large bridal party to the private last dance! They are so blessed to share their lives with so many incredible friends and family members, I cannot wait to see what their future brings them
