Engagement sessions are huge parts of my business and I love doing them, but occasionally because of my couples lives and jobs we just don’t get to do them. When Alex & Tate booked me, Alex was leaving for Top Gun aviation school we had a tiny window to do engagements before he would be gone for weeks on end and then at a new duty station. Unfortunately, the day we chose got snowed out with one of those winter storms we had so no engagement session (talk about pressure!!) Luckily Tate and I got to meet and do her boudoir session before she moved out to California to join Alex!
All that to say I was so excited for their actual wedding day to get to meet Alex, who I had heard so much about, and celebrate with all their friends & family!! The girls were getting ready at a family friend’s home near the oceanfront and had scoped out the most beautiful property for her father/daughter first look. Since they had chosen not to share a first look, we planned to do all the bridal party portraits at their respective getting ready locations then head over for the ceremony so that they could attend part of their cocktail hour!
As we started to leave to head over to Marina Shores for the ceremony, the rain started. Their ceremony was officiated by Tate’s uncle and was just so endearing! He told the crowd before Tate came out that he needed some time to compose himself because when he saw her in her wedding dress he wasn’t expecting to get so choked up. Alex wiped tears from Tate’s face as they exchanged vows and after it was official, it was time for pictures! I have to say this, we had zero intention of taking pictures at Marina Shores and were going to walk down to a grassy/water area but it was raining way too hard. Thank goodness all the crepe myrtles along the property still had dense foliage and we could tuck these two under one and knock out their pictures!!
The rest of the night was spent dancing, listening to toasts from people who shared just how fortunate these two were to find each other, and then my favorite…cake!! Anytimes Incredible edibles strawberry cake is served you better believe I ma helping myself to a slice!!
Alex & Tate it was such an honor getting to be a part of your day! Enjoy some of my favorites!
