The weather on the East Coast has been unusually rainy this season, literally every single wedding weekend has been under the threat of rain until this one!! Janette means SO SO much to our family, because when Pierson was 7 weeks old I handed both my boys over to her and returned to work in a chiropractic office. If you’ve never been in that situation, it was SO incredibly hard but she made it much easier with how much she loved on them!! She is an AMAZING women of God, one I have turned the boys back to constantly when they had questions I just could not answer. Janette was there. In her sweet and calm voice, making it easy for kids to understand. She is just SUCH a light, that good kind you are drawn to!
When Ben came into her life at the perfect time last year, Kenny and I said to each other after a few dates: oh he’s the one. They’ll be married next year. It was JUST that obvious. He is something special for her and loved her the way we have prayed someone would. Plus he has totally swept her off her feet and following their love story has been so fun!!
They started their day getting ready at separate locations but shared their first look at the Cavalier Golf Club before riding boats over to the Lesner Inn for the ceremony and reception. The final ride before they got hitched!! When we met them at the Lesner Inn we could hear the girls coming in before we could really tell it was their boat, they were having SO much fun!!!! During the ceremony on the back deck, the bridal party released butterflies to send to heaven in honor of those who couldn’t join us. It was such a beautiful moment to reflect and I know meant so much to them. We hustled over to the beach to take bridal party pictures and if you don’t know Virginia Beach on a Saturday, let alone graduation Saturday and the first one of summer break, let me paint a picture. People everywhere, I mean just everywhere (it really was the perfect beach day!!). Thankfully they were kind and most tried to give us our time to take pictures without them in it!! We had the most gorgeous light for Janette & Ben, then went back to finish celebrating their day at Lesner!
It meant so much to celebrate this day, and I am thrilled it came sooner rather than later!!! I know these two enjoyed Part 1 of their honeymoon in Santorini and hope the second part is just as great!!
