I feel like I may need to say, prepare yourself for picture overload! Brittany and Johnny managed, with the help of some incredible family and friends, to pull off such a PERFECT rustic wedding day in less than 4 months! They just got engaged in Hawaii the end of January when Johnny proposed after a hike to a private waterfall and Brittany wasted no time. She wanted a wedding where all their friends and family could spread out, hang out and enjoy each other’s company. They chose Culpepper Barn in downtown Pungo for their rustic barn celebration and it was gorgeous! It’s actually two “barns” so there is so much space for everyone!

When I arrived, Brittany and her girls were done with hair and makeup and just hanging out in their pretty floral robes! There were mimosas and food, laughs and practicing of speeches with lots more people buzzing around setting up! After portraits in the back pasture, we went back so Brittany’s aunt could lead a prayer over her and it was BEAUTIFUL. As all her girls laid hands on her and those words were poured out, tears filled her eyes (&mine!) Such a special moment.

Their ceremony was at 2pm and the forecast had rain starting at 3, well you can tell in the pictures of Brittany and Johnny that rain timeline moved up just a little so we shot their portraits in SIX MINUTES before the sky fell out! I’m so grateful they took those few minutes to shoot in the rain!! During the ceremony their officiant said something that really stuck with me, he talked about how love is not just a noun but a verb. It takes action to stay in love and is a place in life that needs and deserves that action.

Everything about this day just felt like it was meant to be, from Brittany finding her wedding dress to Fluttering Flowers just nailing the lush bouquets and decor. All the small vignettes allowed friends and family to really sit back and relax for the day. I loved this color palette, the lilac and wisteria really popped against all the green and white. Slammie’s food truck probably delivered the best burger I’ve ever had!!

I can’t leave without thanking Brittany and Johnny for inviting me into their lives!! From the moment I met her, I loved her. She trusted me on her day when I made her walk through mud for portraits, when I pushed her into the sprinkles for a few moments, and when I pulled her cake table into the center of the floor.
